University of NSW | Law Faculty

In 2006, University of NSW had architecturally designed concepts put together for its new contemporary facelift, wanting an ultra modern look, but also to have acoustical sound barrier. Having a constant flow of young students through the building, acoustics were the main focus of the design. After some research, designers found that fibrous plaster ceiling tiles were able to be manufactured to any architectural specification. Being able to achieve the desired look as well as being functional was the result designers and the University were all looking for. Combining striking colours including purples & greens projecting a calming yet energetic feel to the building, combined with vertical timber panels adding depth and an artisic overview. Acoustic ceiling tiles are the most sound efficient product available on the market. Panels are also available as fire-rated tiles and like the University of NSW, they can be made to suit any specification or design.
